British Council Peacekeeping English Projects

One of our most exciting challenges over the last four years has been our work with the British Council Peacekeeping English Projects (PEP). PEP has been a rousing success in helping ambitious young people in Eastern and Central Europe to develop the businesses and language skills that will help them to succeed in a market economy. But how can what the PEP system sets up sustain itself after the British Council sponsorship ends? The British Council asked esp consulting for support.

The work has been delivered in Ukraine, Croatia, Russia, Slovenia and Albania - countries where dramatic changes have required a swift and solid eduaction in doing business in a free market economy. esp consulting conducted extensive assessments of programmes then in place. We worked with government and education officials to ascertain what precisely the programmes needed to work independently of the British Council and still maintain their excellence.

We developed programmes that teach effective HR practices and working practices, professional development and training. We also delivered teacher training programmes for English Language instruction including syllabus design and curriculum development. At this moment esp consulting programmes are helping young entrepreneurs learn the nuts and bolts of business in a free market economy and helping conquer English, the primary language of international business.
